Are your products food-safe and chemical-free?

Can these plates be used for hot and wet food?
Absolutely. Areca plates are naturally water- and heat-resistant. They are ideal for serving hot meals, curries, and even soups without leakage or sogginess.
Are they microwave and oven safe?
Yes. You can safely use our plates in the microwave (up to 2 minutes) and in the oven (up to 180°C for 30–45 minutes), making them versatile for everyday or event use.
Can I reuse Areca leaf plates?
While designed for single use, many customers gently rinse and reuse them for dry foods. However, they are not dishwasher-safe and are best reused only in limited, hygienic conditions.
Are these plates biodegradable and compostable?
Yes. Our plates are fully biodegradable and compostable at home. They naturally break down in 6–8 weeks without leaving any toxic residue—perfect for zero-waste living.
Why does each plate look different?
Each product is unique because it retains the natural texture, lines, and color variations of the palm leaf it’s made from. No dyes, bleach, or artificial finishes are used.
How should I store the plates to keep them fresh?
Store them in a cool, dry place away from moisture. For best results, open shrink-wrapped packs 15–30 minutes before use to allow any natural odour to air out.
Are Areca plates stronger than paper or bagasse plates?
Yes. Areca plates are naturally stronger and more rigid than most paper-based alternatives. They hold up well to heavy servings, oily dishes, and even cutting with forks and knives.
Are these plates allowed in Singapore for food service?
Yes. Areca plates are approved for use in food service across Singapore. However, we recommend checking with your local food safety authority if using them in a regulated commercial setting.
